Edna Fern Foster went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the age of 74. Edna was born on February 16, 1941 in Fromberg, Montana to Milo and Louise Newcomb. At a young age she and her family moved to Riddle, Oregon. Edna graduated from Riddle High School, and on September 2, 1961 she married her high school sweetheart Dale, whom she had known since 5th grade. Edna's working career was lively and varied. After graduation she worked as a candy striper at Mercy Hospital and as a dental assistant. She went from operating a child care center, to retail work, to being the co-owner of the restaurant Italy n Ice. She retired from South Umpqua School District after years of devotion to the students. Following her retirement, Edna and Dale made several long enjoyable trips visiting family and friends. She also began following in her mother's footsteps giving selflessly at the Myrtle Creek St. Vincent de Paul. Edna is survived by her husband Dale and four daughters Becky and Mike McFarland, Barbara and Michael Hurtienne, Betty and Jeff Pringle and Michelle and Joey Richardson. She adored and loved to spoil her eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Vern, Phil, Steve and sisters Myrna, Debbie and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents. Edna was greatly loved by many for her sense of humor and her generous heart. Funeral arrangements were made by Taylor's Family Mortuary.
