Jeannine Bonebrake born January 28, 1931 in Devol, Oklahoma to Joseph and Letha Bentley passed away at home on November 23, 2025.

During the Depression her family moved to California and then relocated to Lyons, Oregon. Jeannine graduated from Stayton HS and Linfield College (Home Economics Education). At Linfield she met and married Richard ‘Dick’ Bonebrake. Jeannine taught 32 years (the last 15 years teaching Home Economics at Fremont Junior High School in Roseburg) retiring in 1994.

Jeannine and Dick were married for 39 years before Dick passed away in 1991. They had 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Jeannine moved to Eugene, Oregon to be close to family in 1996. She enjoyed going to the coast, birdwatching, making friends and time with family.

Jeannine was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother, and a granddaughter. She is survived by her sisters (Bettye Stein and Norma Metzger), children (Dixie, Pixie, David, Mitzi, and Tammy), 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held in January around her birthday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gideons International or any charity of your choice.
