Kim Elizabeth
Moe
May 23, 1957 – January 5, 2026
Kim Elizabeth Moe, 68, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on January 5, 2026.
Born on May 23, 1957, in Winston, Oregon, to Lynn “Jack” and Beverly Ross, Kim grew up on a farm alongside her three siblings, raising animals and riding horses. Those early years shaped her independent spirit and love for the outdoors. She graduated from Douglas High School, where she met John Auer, whom she later married. John and Kim had two children, Catherine and Brian.
She later married Mike Moe and became a stepmother to Skyler and Travis. During those years, she spent countless hours taking children to soccer games, wrestling matches, basketball games, cheerleading competitions, choir practices, horse shows, BMX races, and whatever sport or activity they decided to pursue. She worked hard to create a sense of home within a blended family and did so with energy and determination.
In her younger adult years, Kim owned and operated a successful cleaning business, “The Magic Mop,” serving local families with dedication and pride. She also spent time living in Florida before eventually returning to Winston, the community she always considered home.
Kim was funny, animated, and truly one of a kind. She had a deep love for Jesus and found comfort in reading her Bible. She loved writing poetry and expressed herself through her words. She was also a wonderful cook, known for preparing meals that brought people together and made them feel welcomed and cared for in her home. In her later years, she enjoyed making jewelry, creating pieces that she lovingly gifted to family members, leaving them with something tangible to remember her by.
She had the best imagination and made life magical for children. She could take an ordinary afternoon and turn it into “pretend land,” whether it was camping in the living room or setting off on an imagined adventure. She had a gift for transforming simple moments into something that felt like a choose-your-own-adventure story. Many have shared how much children were drawn to her and how special she made them feel.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine King (Scott); her son, Brian Auer (Richelle); her grandchildren, Ian Dillingham (Cheyenne), Zachary King, Preston King, Kyra Auer, and Alexis Auer; her great-grandchildren, Maeson Dillingham and Brennen Dillingham; her sister, Dixie Ingwerson; her brother, David Ross; as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn “Jack” and Beverly Ross; her sister, Susan Bakke; and her brother-in-law, Donald Ingwerson.
Funeral services will be held at the Winston Community Center, 440 SE Grape Ave, Winston, Oregon, on May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Kim will be remembered for her faith, her imagination, her generous spirit, and the way she made children and family feel loved and at home.
