Nila Nanette Webster, our beloved mother and servant to all those she met, passed peacefully Mar. 27, 2025, at the age of 87. Nila was born Oct. 6, 1937, in Cedar Vale, Kansas. She lived in nearby Grenola, Kansas, until entering nursing school. She proudly served her country as a 1st Lieutenant and Registered Nurse in the Air Force. 40 of her 57 years in nursing were in hospitals, private practices and home health in Roseburg, Oregon. Service to others was the foundation of her life, caring for those around her above herself. Nila touched and inspired the lives of all those around her, she reminded us that “kindness always works”.
She is survived by her three children, Brad Webster and wife Nancy, Sandy Mode and husband Mark, and Tonja Goss and her husband Brent. She adored and loved her grandchildren, Kevin Mode, Brandon Webster, Nick Webster and Briton Goss, and her three great-grandchildren, Liam, Wyatt and Scottie Rae Mode. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Webster, and brothers, Chuck and Lynn Mattocks.
Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. April 11, 2025, at Roseburg Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Cancer Center of Roseburg. https://www.roseburgcancercare.com/how-to-give
