Sadie Faye Thompson

July 4, 1933 — May 22, 2026

Sadie Faye Thompson lovingly known by family and friends simply as Sadie, passed away peacefully May 22, 2026, at the age of 92.

Sadie was born on July 4, 1933, in Cove, Arkansas. Early in life she married and started a family, welcoming children with her first husband, whom she later lost. Life brought both heartache and new beginnings and she later married Luke Thompson.

In 1963, Sadie and Luke moved to Rubidoux, California, where they built their life together before eventually relocating to Roseburg, Oregon. Luke passed away in December, 1985.

Sadie dedicated 23 years of service to Douglas Community Hospital, where she worked in housekeeping until her retirement. Her strong work ethic, caring spirit and dedication touched many throughout the years.

In 2013, Sadie moved to Portland, Oregon, where she remained close to family. Family was the center of Sadie’s world and her greatest joy in life. She was a proud mother of four children and leaves behind a legacy that spans many generations, including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and even a great-great-great-grandchild.

Outside of family Sadie found joy in music and the outdoors. She loved playing guitar and sharing music with others as part of a band called Sadie and the Good Ole Boys. She also loved fishing and treasured the simple moments spent with those she loved.

Sadie will be remembered for her strength, her love of family, her music and the life she built through perseverance, dedication and devotion to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family she cherished above all else. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

To us, she wasn’t just Mama, Grandma, or friend, she was home, history, music, strength and unconditional love. Her stories, laughter and love for family will stay with us always.

Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m., on June 10, at Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
