Sherry Kay Gaylor, age 85, passed away at home on April 1, 2023. She was born on July 30, 1937, to Edwin and Marie Kelley in Southern California. A few years later, her family moved to Roseburg, Ore., where she graduated from high school. Her junior year she met the love of her life, Frank Gaylor, whom she married on Aug. 28, 1954, and preceded her in November 1991. She then moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 2004.
Sherry was a dedicated mother and wife who loved to oil and watercolor paint, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing and hiking. She loved her family unconditionally.
Sherry is survived by her daughters, Linda (Willy) Ferreira and Dana Gaylor; granddaughters, Kristy (Jamey) Linderman and Megan (Jeff) Hensley; great-granddaughters, Jordyn and Ashlyn Hensley, all of Anchorage; great-granddaughter, Dignity (Grant) Huber; and great-grandson, Hades of Indiana; stepgrandson, Shane (Laura) Ferreira; and great-grandson, Dylan Ferreira of Tennessee. Her only brother Herchel Kelley preceded her in 2016; son, Eddie Gaylor in 2020; and nephew, whom she raised, Gordon Gaylor in 2004.
She will be taken later to join her husband at Roseburg Memorial Gardens, in Roseburg Oregon, where their love story began.
