Wallace "Wally" Gideon

Wally passed from this life Jan. 10, 2026, at the age of 95, at his home in Green, Oregon. He graduated from S. Medford HS in 1949. He went into the electrical field and was a commercial journeyman electrician working at Hanna Nickel in Riddle, Roseburg Lumber. in many places.

He traveled most of his career before retiring. His Hobby was commercial salmon fishing out of Winchester Bay with his boat, Sea Esta. Wally and his brother Bud traveled to many states camping and riding dirt bikes exploring and rock hounding, finding many treasures until his brothers passing.


Wally was widowed twice. His school sweetheart Mary A. (Fann) Gideon for 61 years. At the age of 81, he married Barbara Swan until her passing after 10 years in Dec. 2021. They were both loves of his life and are all laid to rest in Roseburg Memorial Gardens together.

He is survived by Pam Robbins (husband Larry) of Tualatin, son Doug Gideon (wife Teresa) of Canyonville, son David Gideon of Central Point. He Had many (many) grandchildren, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews and family members.
